Georgian style dresser incorporating deep drawers and solid 3'' corner posts. The top was constructed as a bookcase with extra deep shelves. Other features to note are the varying width T&G back (to give added autheticity to the style) and traditional 'turnkey' latches securing the doors.
At 7' in length this imposing dresser (built for a large Surrey mansion) may not be at home in the smaller house but illustrates the flexibility of a made to measure service. Help was needed to unload this dresser on delivery! The finish shown here is limed pine finished with beeswax.
This dresser illustrates, in my opinion, the most pleasing proportions, being the perfect balance between width and height. It features 3 large, deep drawers over 4 doors and solid 3'' corner posts. The open top features random width T&G backing as an added piece of authenticity to the period which the dresser represents. The brass cup handles and knobs are also typical of the period. The dresser is seen here in the limed and waxed finish.
This dresser illustrates the way in which a traditional piece of furniture can be adapted to modern use. The base is partioned to house Hi-Fi equipment and LP's while the top was made especially deep to hold books and CD's.
